Picking Blueberries With Grandma Debbie

At the end of August last year Gabe's parents came to visit us.  One of our first outings together was to go to a nearby blueberry farm.  It is literally just down the street which was nice so we left Carter at home with Grandpa and were able to get back before he woke up.
Everyone was excited to get started filling their buckets.
Photobucket
Grandma helped Preston pick berries at first.
Photobucket
Then she got down to business and did some serious picking...
Photobucket
but of course kept going back to helping Preston out.
Photobucket
He wasn't quite sure what to do with them,
Photobucket
so she told him to put them in his bucket.
Photobucket
I was able to have some peace and quiet while I picked on my own.
Photobucket
Gabe was nice enough to get me in a few of the pictures. ;)
Photobucket
After a little bit of picking we decided to venture over and see what this was all about, unfortunately the inside was all covered in spiders and other yucky things.
Photobucket
When Preston realized he couldn't play in it he ran right back to the blueberry plants.
Photobucket
He is so mischevious.
Photobucket
Now he's got the art of blueberry picking down.
Photobucket
...and has always had the art of blueberry eating down.
Photobucket
He could probably eat blueberries all day long if I let him.  Notice how empty his bucket is.  He was picking the entire time, but most of them ended up inside of his tummy rather than his bucket.
Photobucket
When we were done filling our buckets Grandma took Preston over to the little stream to look for frogs.
Photobucket
When we couldn't find any we decided to take pictures instead.
Photobucket
Preston is always more agreeable when someone else has the camera.
Photobucket
I like this "family" picture Grandma Debbie took for us, too bad Carter was at home sleeping though. ;)
Photobucket
Gabe gave Preston a ride on his shoulder's back to the car...
Photobucket
while I took a few pictures of nature.
Photobucket
Overall, we had a fun and full little outing, in more ways than one. ;)

Carter's Laugh

Carter has been a happy baby since the very beginning.  He was around two months when these pictures were taken.  Thanks to Grandma Debbie for capturing me making him laugh. ;)
Big smile,

Bigger,

Photobucket
and biggest.

I will cherish these memories forever.

A Day at the Beach with Daddy and Grandma

I had a dentist appt. one afternoon in Augurst while Gabe's mom was visiting, so since we were already nearby we picked Gabe up from work and had a fun evening at the beach together.

Grandma stayed and took care of Carter in the shade for a while.
Photobucket
Of course Preston took off running toward the water the moment we got there.
Photobucket
This was the first time Gabe was able to play out with him since we usually went during playgroup.
Photobucket
They had a lot of fun together!
Photobucket
Gabe even tried out Preston's floatie.
Photobucket
After a little while Preston decided to warm up in the sand.  The water was really cold that day.
Photobucket
Maybe he thought burying himself in sand would warm him up.
Photobucket
He eventually found his sand toys
Photobucket
and realized he would be better off if he just filled that up with sand instead.
Photobucket
The warmest water was in the puddle  someone had dug, so Gabe and Preston had a fun time jumping
Photobucket
over
Photobucket
and over again
Photobucket
while Grandma watched from the sidelines.
Photobucket
Just in case you couldn't tell.  I was there too. ;)
Photobucket
We also went out for Japanese that day at our favorite place.  It was so yummy!

Fresh Produce

We've gotten a lot of food right out of our backyard this year.  Preston loved going out and helping daddy pick it, starting with the blueberries...

Of course he had to taste them too.

More than once. ;)

We also got a lot of zuchinni.

Which Preston loves, but didn't try eating right away.

Don't you just love his swimming hair and "sweat" outfit?
