Carter and Baby Sam

Holly and Sam came over on one of the hottest days this year!  Just in case you're wondering why Sam is mostly naked. :)
They slept at the same time...
and were awake at the same time. ;)
It's so fun to see them grow together!

Playgroups at the Beach

We went to the beach for playgroup a couple of times this month.  The first time Preston wanted absolutely nothing to do with the water, he just wanted to play in the "dirt" as he calls it.
I had lots of fun talking with friends, while Preston played with his friends.  Britni and Tesila were all decked out in their beach gear.
Sawyer "smiled" at the camera when he came close by.
As did Tessa, who was finding shells and getting covered in sand the entire time.  I LOVE her swimming suit!
Rigdon reached for my camera.  Amy's kids like getting their pictures taken and getting dirty. ;)
Holly showed up near the end and even little Sam enjoyed the water.
Sam even sort of smiled for the camera too.

Sarah and Eli came along with Holly and enjoyed the water as well.
Eli liked having his picture taken too.  Why is it that every kid does but mine?
As always Carter hung out on a towel and was asleep after not too long.
On our second trip to the beach we tried out a different spot and Preston decided he actually DID like the water.

He kicked his feet...
while playing on his fish floatie Grandma got him.  Check out the sand in that hair!
He kept swimming like this and kicking his legs even without the floatie.  I love how his swimming suit is filled up with air.
Of course he did find a little bit of time to play in the "dirt" as well... hence the hair.
We're lucky to have so many fun places to go in the summer!

Preston on the Potty

Yesterday Preston and I went out to the store to pick up some big boy underwear for him.  He was so excited he kept wanting to try them on.  While he sat on the potty...
He went from one color to the next
and thought he was so funny!
He sat there for probably 30 minutes and actually went while he was on there!  He didn't know what he was doing though and moved while it was coming out so we ended up with wet stuff all over the floor.  Oh well. ;)

Downtown

Of course I had to take my mom dowtown while she visited here.  The last time she came to visit she came the day Preston was born so we didn't get out much.  Here's the "alligator" (elevator) that Preston won't stop talking about now.
Before we got there my mom let me stop and take a few quick pictures of her.
Then we went over to the Space Needle.  She took Preston and the camera up and got a few pictures of downtown
Preston
and the Pretty views.
She even had someone take a picture of the two of them.  You can't see much, but you get the idea.
They enjoyed looking out while I fed Carter down below.
I always thought Preston was afraid of heights, but apparantly he's not. :)
After that adventure we went over to the monorail and Preston was VERY excited to be riding a real train.
It took us down to the...
Where we enjoyed the pretty flowers
the view of the ocean
the produce, the crazy fish
and the locals!
Soon it was time to say goodbye so my mom could rush off to the airport.  It was a perfect ending to a nice trip.
I had to stop to feed Carter right after we dropped my mom off at the airport, so we just sat in the cell phone parking lot there.  The poor kid pooped through all his clothes too and the onesie I had in my bag was too small for him, so he got to ride home topless.  At least it was hot outside, right?

Need I say more?

This is what today was all about.

Grandma Love and Some Silly Boys

We spent some tine lounging around while my mom was here too.
Preston liked sitting next to Grandma and cuddling with the Giraffe she gave him.
And Grandma liked making both of them happy.
She was especially good at making Carter smile
she even taught him how to stick his tongue out
squint one eye
and make silly
silly
silly faces
and they sure were cute!
Of course Preston had to be silly while she was here too and decided to make a mess with his cream of wheat.
He tried to fingerpaint with it
and exfoliate his hands with it. ;)
He also went into my closet and chose these shoes to wear all by himself.  They're the ones I wore for our wedding.  Is it bad that my two-year-old little boy is able to walk all the way across the hall in these. ;)
