Friends and Babies

It's crazy to think that we've lived here for more than three years now.  Some of our friends visited us right after we had Preston and again after we had Carter.  It was fun to compare photos and see how different things were two years ago.
Here's when Amy and Tessa came to visit me at the hospital after Preston was born.
Here they are visiting in the hospital after Carter was born.  Look how much bigger Tessa is!
Here are our friends Justin and Kati with their little girl Alyssa.  At the time Kati was pregnant with their son Dallin.
After Carter was born they came to visit us at our house.  Here are Kati and Justin with Carter.
Look how small Alyssa was when she held Preston in the hospital.
She looks so grown up holding Carter just two years later.
Our friends Trent and Kim and their boys Levi and Ethan also came to visit both boys after they were born.
Their boys were as excited to see Carter as they were to see Preston.  They love babies!  It's good because now they have a little baby sister of their own too.
It's so weird to think how much time has gone by since we've lived here.  I'm glad that we've been able to have so many good friends along the way!

Around the House

Here's Preston pointing out Carter's mouth right before I took his newborn pictures.  The goal was to get a cute one of them together, but this was the only one I got with Preston in it.  He kept saying, "All Done picture!" which unfortunately happens a lot.
After I was done taking Carter's pictures Bentley thought it was his turn.  Gabe found him laying on Carter's blanket which he is usually not allowed to do.
Gabe decided to grow a goatee while he was home from work the week after Carter was born, I did not approve of this, but I did say I'd take a picture if he'd shave it off. ;)
Preston loves sharing his toys with his brother.  Even while he's sleeping in weird positions.
Every night Preston asks if Carter can sleep in his bed.  We always let him lay there with him for a few minutes.
Sweet boy having some tummy time.
Preston wanted to wear his hat, and was insistant that Carter wear his too.  Carter wasn't too happy about that.
Preston and Carter both love their bouncy chairs!  Preston always loves to hold Carter's hand too.  They sat like this for at least 20 minutes.  I'm glad they like each other... so far.

Family Pictures

When Preston was six weeks old we had some pictures taken at JCPenney.  We have them up in our living room now, but I wanted some similar ones with Carter in them to replace the old ones.  I didn't want to go to JCPenney again so we did our best to recreate the same type of picture from our own house.  Here's what we came up with thanks to my handy dandy tripod.
I have a picture of my kissing Preston when he was a baby that mirrors this on, so we're going to have one on either side of the family picture.  The color is weird because I had to make it match the JCPenney sepia.
It's amazing how hard it was to get things going just to take pictures in my own house.  Gabe kept Preston entertained with books while I set up.
Preston of course wanted mommy to read books too.  Can you tell Carter is really into it?
While I finished setting up the tripod Carter napped patiently on the couch.
When I went back to get him he was sleeping like this.  What a goofball!
We tried our best to get a picture of our boys together.
Preston stayed interested just long enough to take a picture or two.
Gabe and Carter were much more willing models.
Gabe because he knew I'd be upset if he wasn't, and Carter because he was still sleeping, luckily.
Gabe did a good job getting sweet pictures of Carter and I.
Of course I was a willing model too.  There aren't many pictures of Carter and I together, so I'm glad to have some.
Don't worry, he didn't try to put up a fight. :)
We did get Preston to sit for another minute or two.
Luckily I got one picture of their feet before Preston slid himself out from under Carter, good thing it turned out.
The only picture we got of them together.  I'm glad I can cherish that sweet moment.
Preston only agreed to let me take pictures of him because I let him jump around on the couch.
He kept jumping and falling down.  He thought he was pretty funny.
He really is a sweet boy.
Look at that face, so innocent.  At least he looks that way, right. :)

The Many Faces of Carter

I just love the many different faces babies make. Especially when they're sleeping. Here's just a glimpse of the enjoyment Carter brings us every day.

Concerned Face
Kissy Face

Oh, and here's his "I'm about ready to cry face." It's a good thing his daddy was there to calm him down. :)

Crazy Tomato Soup

Preston loves eating his grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup.  Sometimes he has too much fun with it.  Maybe I should buy him a set of paints.
He always seems to be covered in soup by the end of this meal.
The sad thing is that he doesn't have any trouble getting it into his mouth with the spoon.
He loves to dip his sandwich in and that's when it gets all over.
Now he's just being silly.
Notice the soaking wet sandwich in the corner.  He just dips it and then sucks all the tomato soup out. Yum.
He's such a crazy boy!  Luckily daddy was home to help clean him up that day. :)
