Preston's an Artist

Even at barely two years old Preston has become quite an artist...
Photobucket
Well, that is if you call coloring well being an artist.

Photobucket
Can you believe he colored so well in the lines?  I'm pretty sure I didn't teach him how to do that. ;)

Carter's Tent

The first time Carter was introduced at around two months he wasn't sure what to think.Photobucket
He just looked around...

Photobucket
and then he decided he liked it!

Photobucket
a lot!

Photobucket
Preston was also very excited that Carter liked his "tent" and decided to play with it too.

Photobucket
I'm so glad they're friends!

and Tesila...
Photobucket
came over to play in the water with Preston.
Photobucket
Britni even got in on the fun.
Photobucket
The best part was that Carter actually enjoyed the water for the first time ever.

It was a party, I love the summertime!

Cookie Monster

Preston just loves cookies and sunshine.  What a perfect combination!
Photobucket

He slowly savors every bite...
Photobucket

and every crumb...
Photobucket

and is bummed when they're all gone...
Photobucket
I'm a poet and I did not know it. ;)  Who can name that movie?

Preston's First Dentist Visit

Preston had his very first dentist visit this week.  Since he got his first two teeth right at three months, and had all but his molars by his first birthday we decided it was probably time to take him in.  He did a suprisingly good job especially considering that he's afraid of heights.  We started out by having him sit on daddy's lap while we talked to the hygenist, she gave him a new toothbrush and had us practice brushing his teeth.
Photobucket
She did a good job explaining to him how important it is to brush our teeth to keep them healthy.  You have to love pediatric dentists.  Did you notice the tv's on the ceiling?
Photobucket
Next, the dentist came in to look at his teeth. This is where his fear of heights kicked in. I think it may have also reminded him of the table where he was knocked out when he had his eye surgery.
Photobucket
Despite the fact of having to hold on for dear life, we think he enjoyed the experience and doesn't have any cavities yet!
Photobucket
Next time he goes in we're going to go for the full cleaning, we'll see how that goes...

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Yesterday we took Preston and Carter to their first baseball game because someone gave us free tickets.  We even had fun walking down together as a family.
Photobucket

Preston thought the real baseball field was really cool.
Photobucket

He and daddy had fun reading the program together.
Photobucket

And of course he loved watching the game,
Photobucket

and cheering for the team!
Photobucket

Gabe and Carter had a good time too.
Photobucket
Gabe was even able to catch a t-shirt for me while holding a sleeping baby, pretty amazing if you ask me!
Photobucket

The funny thing is what the t-shirt is of...
Photobucket
It's probably my new favorite shirt. ;)

Out on the Island

For one of our playgroups we went to the beach over at a nearby island where the water is shallow and warm(er).  We got to ride a little ferry on the way over.  Check out Preston's awesome sunglasses, and how he's wearing them over his ear...

The Island was beautiful!

This was part of the path we walked along to get to the water.

As soon as we got there Preston ran out to the water as fast as he could, before I even got the chance to put sunscreen on him.

I had to go out and chase him down to bring him back and put his sunscreen on.  He was already enjoying himself in with all that sand.

The tide was so low that I wasn't going to walk all the way to the water so we just hung out on the sand with all the seaweed and little puddles of warm water.  Yes, I do have a baby in a front pack on in this picture if you're wondering what this weird shape is.

Who knew he would have so much fun at a beach with mostly sand!

He and Melea enjoyed themselves in this little puddle.  Aren't they cute?

Finally it was time to journey back over to the ferry.

We missed the first one and had to wait for another one to come but had fun anyway.  We got to look around this little shack.  I love this picture of little Sam, he looks so concerned.

By the time we got back to the car Preston was tuckered out and fell right to sleep on the way home.

We're definately going to have to go there again... maybe next year. ;)

Wet & Wild... Really Wild

We've been enjoying the really hot weather the past week or so.  Especially since our AC decided to break and it's really hot in our house, especially in the evening.  So we have been spending a lot of time under the sprinklers.

As well as on our new slip and slide Preston got for his birthday.

Preston wasn't sure if he liked it at first.

But eventually he decided he absolutely loved it!

If  you couldn't tell. ;)

He kept asking Gabe to push him over and over again!

He was even happy when he kicked his legs right out from under himself!

He loved getting splashed by the water inthe pool too!  Oh, and he does have a swimming suit, it was just really dirty from the beach earlier that day.

Gabe and I took lots of turns too.  Who knew slip and slides would still be fun!

Going...

Going...

Gone!

This is probaby the worst picture of me ever, but I did need some proof that I actually went.

Carter enjoyed the shade too.  Look at those little baby pecs. ;)

He had a hard time sleeping inside because it was too hot, but he drifted away fast once we got into the slightly cooler air.

What sweet feet?

We tried putting the dog in the pool too to cool him off.

He did not like it very much at all, he thought I was punishing him.  Poor thing.  He sure did look funny though. ;)
