Preston had his very first dentist visit this week. Since he got his first two teeth right at three months, and had all but his molars by his first birthday we decided it was probably time to take him in. He did a suprisingly good job especially considering that he's afraid of heights. We started out by having him sit on daddy's lap while we talked to the hygenist, she gave him a new toothbrush and had us practice brushing his teeth.
She did a good job explaining to him how important it is to brush our teeth to keep them healthy. You have to love pediatric dentists. Did you notice the tv's on the ceiling?
Next, the dentist came in to look at his teeth. This is where his fear of heights kicked in. I think it may have also reminded him of the table where he was knocked out when he had his eye surgery.
Despite the fact of having to hold on for dear life, we think he enjoyed the experience and doesn't have any cavities yet!
Next time he goes in we're going to go for the full cleaning, we'll see how that goes...

I agree . . . pediatric dentists are the best!
ReplyDeleteI love the hanging on for dear life picture. What a cutie. I'm glad the first visit was a success!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! That looks like a cool office. I love how Preston takes up only so much room on the length of the chair. It's so adorable!
