No, I'm not talking about the movie, although it is one Gabe likes a lot. I'm talking about the Fourth of July, this year, 2008. I still am way behind on my blogging if you couldn't tell and I have this weird thing where I can't leave anything out. We had a great time that day and since I have a bad memory I need to post pictures and write myself captions. Feel free to take a peek three months down memory lane with me.
In the morning we went to our annual ward (church congregation) breakfast. They had pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, yogurt, fruit salad, and orange juice. It was quite a feast for someone who usually has a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Of course I was the last one done. They were already putting up the tables when I was finishing. I try to blame it on the fact that I have to feed Preston, but really I'm just a slow eater which is only accentuated when I talk to much which tends to happen at social gatherings.

Preston liked "jumping" or rather "running" on the trampoline. Isn't it cool how the static made his hair stick up? Click for a larger view.

After the breakfast we all hung out for a while. It was about naptime so Preston started to fall asleep on Gabe's shoulders. My friend Holly who took these amazing pictures of Preston took these next three pictures for us.
No wonder he was worn out with all that running around. He had his first ever scraped knee. And yes, he has many more since then, luckily it doesn't seem to bother him.
When he started falling asleep I put him on my shoulder and he was out. I love his squished face and puckered lips.
Later that day we went to a friends house for a barbeque. My other friend Heidi L. took these next few pictures for us. It's so nice to have my own personal paparazzi. :)... too bad my hair wasn't looking to good that day or this would have been a really good family pictures.

Okay, finally for some pictures from our camera. Preston saw that all the big kids had gone upstairs and wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
When he realized Teagan had a ball he was of course excited.
But after a few minutes of wearing that silly star hat mom got from the dollar bin at Joann's he was ready to take that off...
and try out the sandbox. Of course this was a hit because he LOVES dirt.
Last but not least we tried out the swings. Wow, look at those thunder thighs, they're not that big anymore!
For some reason he thought the swing was a chew toy,
so I showed him what it's really for and he liked it much better.
I had fun too with Tessa and Sawyer, they like to go REALLY high! Too bad I look like a dork in this picture.
After the barbeque we went and watched the fireworks of course. Preston was really tired and slept on our shoulders but kept waking up everytime he heard a loud boom, which was, let's face it, about every four seconds. Poor kid didn't get a lot of sleep at home that day. But, I think overall he still had a great time. Aren't holiday's great? We haven't had one in a while so I'm excited it's almost that season again.
